The Yonso Project partners with many organizations both in the US and in Ghana, from public schools to civic clubs to other nonprofits. Some of our partners are profiled below.


Bamboosero

Bamboosero is a company whose mission is to train workers in the developing world to build high-quality bicycles from bamboo, thus providing good paying jobs and valuable skills for artisans. With the ongoing help of Bamboosero, the Yonso Project has opened a bamboo bike workshop in one of our communities, Apaah. WomensTrust, Inc.

WomensTrust is an exceptional 501(c)(3) nonprofit operating in the Ghanaian city of Pokuase (poe-KWA-see). WT seeks to empower women and girls in Pokuase by providing them with improved access to education, health care, and credit. When we began planning for our microlending program, WomensTrust assisted the Yonso Project by sharing knowledge and training our managers in Yonso. We thank the staff at WomensTrust greatly for their assistance!

Maple Valley Country Store

Maple Valley Country Store in Plainfield, VT sells top quality goods of all sorts, from fresh-baked bread to local honey and cheese to sandwiches and soups. Maple Valey has been assisting the Yonso Project for over two years by freely providing us with store space to sell Ghanaian woodcarvings. All proceeds from the sale of the carvings directly fund the YP's programs in Ghana, and Maple Valley asks nothing from the Yonso Project in return for the store's generosity. We sincerely thank Maple Valley for this tremendous favor!

Twinfield Union School / Twinfield National Honor Society

Twinfield Union School serves students grades Pre-K - 12 in Marshfield, Vermont, providing exceptional academics and athletics and a close-knit public school community. Twinfield Union School has assisted the Yonso Project through the personal generosity of its staff and the assistance of the Twinfield National Honor Society -- an organization for student leaders -- with the YP's financial management. First Presbyterian Church of Barre, VT

The First Presbyterian Church of Barre has helped the Yonso Project with fundraising and our pen pal program, and its youth group has lent us much assistance with our activities in the US. The church has also provided us with material supplies for tabling and other YP events. We are very grateful for their efforts!

Kiwanis Clubs of Greater Boston

Kiwanis International is a global organization dedicated to helping children in need. We have received much needed support from many Kiwanis clubs around the country, but several clubs in the greater Boston area have been especially supportive. Among other things, Kiwanis organizations in Boston assisted in the operation of our pen pal program. Thank you, Kiwanis.
